Sunscreen
You’ll be outside in the sun a lot, so apply sunscreen generously and frequently. Otherwise, your memories and your photos of the trip might not turn out how you’d planned.
Groceries
You won’t want to stop every day for food and drinks, so stock up before you embark. Be sure to bring condiments, spices, ice and snack food for hikes. Most boats will have clean drinking water, so you won’t need to bring lots of plastic bottles. Instead, just bring reusable ones that you can take on hikes.
Cameras
A camera is a must! Your memories will last a lifetime, but it’s also nice to have photographs to remind you of your experiences. Be sure to bring extra memory cards for your cameras. Chargers and Extra Batteries Also remember to bring chargers for any electronics you plan to bring on board. A dead battery is not part of a dream vacation.
Clothes
As with every vacation, be sure to bring the appropriate clothing. Most people end up lounging around in their bathing suits and T-shirts, so you don’t need to pack a lot. Instead, just bring clothes for hiking and swimming. You might also want to bring a light jacket. It can get cold at night.
Hiking Boots or Shoes
Speaking of hiking, the most important thing to make your trailblazing a success is hiking boots and socks. A blister can quickly ruin an outing, so comfortable shoes are a must.
Towels
While they’re not a necessity, extra towels make the trip more pleasant. Bring beach towels and hand towels.
Insect Repellant and First Aid Kit
You’ll want to have both of these on hand. Not only will they make the trip more pleasant, but even if nothing happens, you’ll feel more comfortable knowing you have them on board. Recreational Items As much as we would like to swim all day every day, truth be told, sometimes your body will need a break. Bring recreational items to help pass the time such as books, board games, magazines, cards, balls and music players.
Toiletries
When you’re considering what to pack for houseboat rentals, you know you can’t go without your toothbrush, soap and shampoo. Because of all the swimming, you should also bring conditioner for your hair.
Binoculars
You see some stunning sites while you’re on your houseboat. Bring binoculars to bring the wondrous views even closer.
Pillows and Sleeping bags
Lastly, while your houseboat will likely have everything you need to sleep, it’s nice to have comfortable pillows and sleeping bags. Plus, these give you the flexibility to sleep anywhere on deck, even right under the stars.
