Houseboat Rentals in the USA

A verified directory of houseboat rental destinations across the United States — the big Southwest reservoirs, the Ozarks and Mid-South lakes, California's Shasta and Don Pedro, the Columbia River's Lake Roosevelt, the border lakes of Voyageurs National Park, and Florida's St. Johns River. Every destination page carries a research date, real marinas, and links to request availability for your dates.

What "houseboat rental" means here

A short-term, self-drive rental of a purpose-built houseboat from a licensed marina or authorized concessioner — not a moored floating home or a captained charter. Every destination on this site is verified for that specific rental model.

How rentals actually work

You reserve a boat class and dates months ahead, arrive at the marina for orientation, and cruise unsupervised for the length of the trip. Fuel, cleaning, taxes, and a refundable security hold sit on top of the base rate. Most marinas require a boater education document.

What moves the cost

Boat class, season week, marina, trip length, and fuel usage — in roughly that order. Right-sizing the boat to your actual group is usually a bigger saving than shopping the calendar. The national pricing guide covers this in detail.
